What this website collects, why, and what it does not do — written to describe how the rebuilt site actually behaves rather than a generic template.

The short version

This website collects two things: anonymous traffic statistics, and whatever you type into the contact form. It does not track you across other websites, does not record your screen, and carries no advertising tags.

What we collect

Traffic statistics. We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages people read. It tells us how many people visited the rooms page this week, not who they are. Your IP address is handled by Google and is not stored by us. These counts also feed MKL Hospitality Group’s combined reporting across its properties — the same anonymous figures, read at group level rather than for this property alone.

We also count clicks to call or open the booking provider, and confirmed successful enquiry submissions. These events include the site name and page path, but no form fields, visitor phone number or query parameters. A booking click does not confirm a completed reservation.

What you send us. If you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address, any phone number you give us, and your message. That reaches the hotel’s inbox and is used to answer you. We do not add you to a mailing list.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell or rent your information.
  • We do not run advertising or retargeting tags.
  • We do not use session recording or heatmap tools.
  • We do not ask for payment details on this website. Bookings are taken by our booking provider or at the front desk.
  • No credit card information is stored on this website.

Booking

The “Book Now” and “Check Availability” buttons take you to our booking provider’s own site. Your reservation and payment details are handled there, under that provider’s privacy policy, not ours.

This site sets cookies for one purpose: anonymous traffic measurement, through Google Analytics 4. They let us see how many people visited, which pages they read and roughly where in the world they were — not who they are. We set no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking cookies.

Every browser lets you clear cookies already stored and refuse new ones. This site works with cookies blocked; you will simply not be counted in our statistics.

Advertising

We do not run Google Ads, Facebook Ads, or any other advertising platform on this website, and calls to the hotel are not monitored or recorded for advertising measurement.

Asking us about your data

Write to hatteras@visitobx.com or call +1 (252) 995-6100 and ask. If you have sent us a message through the contact form and want it deleted, say so and we will delete it.
